Vegas 2049 Syd Mead Tribute

As a long time fan of Blade Runner, Aliens and many more I’ve been a fan of Syd Mead’s work. I purchased his books wayback starting with Oblagon and Sentinel as well as the sketch books. I have referred to them many many times for inspiration.

Syd’s work on Blade Runner, 2010 and Aliens has been a benchmark for visual artists and 3D modellers and you’ll find it hard to find one who hasn’t been influenced by his amazing portfolio of work.

I wanted to make my own Vegas 2049 with a few extra elements as a tribute to Syd including the Tyrell Building, a model of his Hotel Concept for the movie as well as the atmosphere processor from Aliens.  I don’t think the processor was Syd’s design (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong) but I couldn’t figure out how to get the Sulaco into this design.

Syd was a great inspiration and will be missed.
