I have been painting sci-fi scenes way back in the distant past (I think it was called the 80’s) using something called paint (specifically Gouache) an airbrush, very small paint brushes, a scalpel and vinyl masking where you had to cut out each piece, spray it and then wait for it to dry and carry on.
Although I started on the road to matte painting way back then, life got in the way and I spent most of my time creating catalogs, ads and in the 90’s got involved in web design. I’ve been building websites for nearly 20 years with brief intermissions, my main passion is landscape painting, sci-fi scenes and matte painting. I am heavily influenced by Syd Mead’s work as well as more modern digital artists. As I have a full time job I’ve been learning Vue and 3DSMax with my very limited spare time.
This website is a gallery of my work and as I improve and learn more I’ll display my new projects, hopefully this site will also act as a resource for new 3D and Digital artists, I know I had the hardest time working out where to get started and what to learn. I know I’ve got a long way to go and it can be frustrating trying to put my visions into a digital form but when it works there is a great feeling of accomplishment and a drive to go further and better each time.
I’ve had worked published in Fantasy Art Magazine and had some of my work featured for Image of the Week at 3DArtistonline.com also a few pieces picked for Cream of the Crop at Cornucopia3D.com. Most of my time is spent running our web design and printing business, we also have an ecommerce business where we sell cool Movie and TV collectibles. We also have t-shirt printing business so not a lot of free time for 3D and digital art but I’ll keep trying to find it and hopefully grow my skills.
Anyway, hope you like my work and the website.
