Somer

Somer

Vue / Photoshop

The first of my Somer series of images, I wanted to create an idyllic village which could be one of the small sleepy hamlets of Southern England. This is not set at any particular time and could be today or many decades ago (although the street lamps limit this somewhat. This look was inspired by the work of Thomas Kinkade as well as Vue artist Dominic Davison. All contents were from Cornucopia3D except the ducks which I think came from 3D studio. In the following images you’ll see an evening version, an “ivy” version and then with some reworking a winter scene. I really enjoyed creating the “Somer” series which I borrowed the name from the Midsomer TV series, these scenes did prompt me to set up a small render farm as they were making my computer slow to a crawl.
